Head of the Charles

On Sunday, October 19th the Medford High School Rowing team competed in the 2025 Head of the Charles


The Head of the Charles is the largest 3 day regatta in the world. Over 11,000 athletes compete in over 2,500 boats across 74 races.

This year 3 of our boats qualified.


Gianna Purifory, Georgia Hargreaves, AD Charlton, and Sabina Li rowed our Women’s Youth 4x with Patrick Waldron as their coxswain and finished in 22:14.666 with a 3:47.051 split

Owen Barczak-Kroll and Jayden Wu rowed the Men’s Youth 2x and finished in 18:26.987 with a 3:18.397 split.

Henry Gregor, Charles Orcutt, Matthew Stricker, and James Cluggish rowed our Men’s Youth 4x with Alex Bress as their coxswain and finished in 20:40.532 with a 3:46.352 split.
